THE SPROCKETS! VISION

We are committed to providing a quality, enriched early years sporting education to young children, developing their physical literacy, confidence and team work skills and inspiring them to be lifelong movers.

We strive to deepen and strengthen children’s natural abilities by providing them with a healthy learning environment which supports the development of cooperation, resilience and a growth mindset.

OUR MISSION
To develop children’s skills, passion and potential by learning through play and sport.

Hello!

The Sprockets! Teaching Team will provide your child with engaging, diverse and fun play and development experiences. Together we bring motivation, enthusiasm and energy to every lesson and facilitate your child’s exploration of their capabilities and areas of sporting interest.

Our teachers Alysha, Ella, Elliott, Kate, Sarah and Theo all have extensive experience with children. This experience allows them to create and implement quality teaching and learning opportunities for children.

The captain and creator of Sprockets! is Vicki, a qualified primary school teacher who has a passion for supporting and enriching the growth and development of children, to inspire them to reach their full potential.

HOW MUCH PHYSICAL ACTIVITY DO OUR PRESCHOOLERS NEED?

Being physically active every day is important for the healthy growth and development of infants, toddlers and preschoolers.
The Department of Health has published National Physical Activity Recommendations for Children.
These recommendations are for all infants aged 0-5 years who have not yet started school, irrespective of cultural background, gender or ability.

It is recommended that:
Toddlers (1 to 2 years) should spend at least 180 minutes a day doing a variety of physical activities including energetic play such as running, jumping and twirling spread throughout the day.
Pre-schoolers (3 to 5 years) should spend at least 180 minutes a day in a variety of physical activities, of which 60 minutes is energetic play such as running, jumping and kicking and throwing, spread throughout the day.
